This item has been sold. Rare antique German all-bisque oriental pair of dolls. The male is 3 inches tall. His head features a molded yellow and black conical hat and oriental features with slanted black eyes and eyebrows and drooping mustache. He is jointed at shoulders and hips, with black heeled boots. His original factory clothes are sewn on, so I cannot examine the bisque entirely, but I do see a large chip on the back hip. Silk and felt clothes are deteriorating, but they can be mended somewhat. He is accompanied by a very rare oriental lady. Her black molded hair has a fancy upswept hairtyle There is a white spot on each side of the high bun where I think there might have been some type of hair ornament which has broken off. She has oriental features with slanted dark eyes and eyebrows. She is incised 177-6, with jointed shoulders and hips and painted black boots. No damage except as I mentioned the tiny white spots on her hair. Rare pair!
