This doll has been sold. Pert and pretty 24-inch antique German bisque child doll incised: K ½ Made in Germany 14 ½ 164. She was made in the doll factory of J. D. Kestner. Her head is perfect with no cracks or repairs, but does have several complexion rubs on her nose, cheek and upper lip, and the mold seam on the right side of her head was not sanded smoothly. She has molded multistroked eyebrows and dramatic brown sleeping eyes with perfect eyelid wax. She has her original plaster pate and a replaced brown curly wig with side part. I think this is a synthetic wig, but it is soft and excellent quality and displays well on her. This sweet girl has her original Kestner jointed composition body with red stamp on her derriere and all of her fingers. Body has original paint and just a little wear on the knee joint. Her vintage white cotton dress with tucks and lace insertion has some splits on one sleeve and both cuffs have been snipped so her arm can go into it. She wears possibly original white cotton corset, drawers, half slip shoes and stockings. What a beautiful example of a lovely girl from this prestigious German dollmaker!
