Darling 5-inch antique German all-bisque child doll incised 40 2 on her head and torso, and 30 2 on her arms and legs. This is a correct number combination for this doll, probably from the factory of Kling or Kestner. Her bisque has no cracks or repairs, but there is a tiny, tiny flake on each hip joint; all parts are original to her. She has blue sleeping eyes with perfect eyelid wax and an open mouth with 4 upper teeth; the open mouth is unusual on this model. She has thin tapered eyebrows and delicately painted upper and lower eyelashes. Her original blonde mohair wig is sparse on one side, but very full in the back with two original hairbows. This cute little girl is jointed at neck, shoulders and hips. Her footwear consists of molded pink shirred stockings and black heeled one-strap shoes with toe ornament. She wears her original wool and cotton slip with hemstitching trim and with a hole on the side which falls into the fold. She is an attic doll from an estate and has never before been in a doll collection. You could add a little dress if you wanted to, but she looks so cute in her slip and would fit into a doll bedroom scene just as she is. Fabulous little doll with tons of personality!
