Lovely 6-inch antique German all-bisque child doll incised 133. She is wonderful quality and made by a prestigious firm, such as J. D. Kestner or Kling & Co. Her bisque is very pretty and smooth, but she does have a small flake on the neck of her front torso and a repair on the top of her right hip. The color on the top of her torso front is rosier than the rest of her body, so I blacklighted her to check for repair, but there is no repair, but I think she may have been sprayed to cover up the small flake on the neck front. There is factory roughness across her head opening in the front where the bisque is very think. Often the Kestner 102s (so-called Wrestlers) have this same flaw, so I’m thinking that she is likely a Kestner. She has blue sleeping eyes and an open mouth with two tiny upper teeth, and tiny dimples. Her mohair wig is a new replacement, but in an appropriate style. She has a swivel neck, and pegged shoulders and hips, very desirable features. Her footwear consists of smooth white stockings, blue painted garters, and black shoes with heels and a molded bow on the strap, which is very unusual. She is wearing a nicely and newly made white cotton dress and matching panties in an appropriate style. This is a fantastic all bisque, priced right because of her few flaws, none of which show or detract from her beauty. At a big live auction, she would probably bring at least $850. What a honey she is, you’ll look a long time for another like her, so buy her now!
