4 ½-inch hard plastic baby marked “Hollywood Doll” with star on back. Cute well-modeled little face, molded hair painted reddish brown, blue/green sleeping eyes, pouty mouth; movable head, jointed shoulders and hips, detailed modeling on fingers, elbows, knees, and toes. Wearing original pale blue taffeta nightgown with lace trim at hem and tucked in a cream taffeta quilted bunting with lace trim. There is a spot of discoloration on the front of her gown, most hidden by her bunting. Baby is in her original plastic or celluloid cradle marked “Collection Doll Cradle Made by Hollywood Doll Mfg Co.” with net, lace, and ribbon-trim, as shown in a reprint of a 1952 Hollywood Dolls ad in the Judd’s Hard Plastic Dolls, Vol. 2. Condition is very good, with a few small unnoticeable holes in the lace, and the lace is somewhat grayed. I wondered about a hat, but the cradle baby in the reprint ad doesn’t have one either. What a darling ensemble!
