Sweet early 1880s 9-inch antique German bisque shoulder head doll with pouty closed mouth incised: S H 2/0 950. Her head was made in the porcelain factory of Simon & Halbig. Her bisque has no cracks, chips or repairs that I can see, but there are two factory flaws – a flake on the inside rim of her head, and a small pimple on one cheek. She has a sweet face with full tapered eyebrows, blue sleeping eyes, long painted lashes, pudgy cheeks, a desirable closed pouty mouth, and a vintage light brown wavy mohair wig. She has her original pink cloth body with bisque lower arms and tiny finger chip. She wears her original cotton pantaloons, black cotton stockings and black slippers. Her vintage blue silk dress is simple, but suits her well. She also wears a vintage cotton half slip. Her brown velvet hat completes her outfit. What a cute doll for a room box scene or other doll display, all ready for your shelf!
