All original folk-costumed 9-inch German bisque child incised: 1894 A.M. DEP Germany 10/o. Her head was made in the porcelain factory of Armand Marseille in Sonneberg. Her bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips or repairs. Her blue glass weighted eyes sleep, but they are stuck open and I don’t want to force and break them. She has peachy bisque with long tapered eyebrows and delicate painted eyelashes. Her short curly mohair wig is nice and full. Her open mouth has four upper teeth. Her original 5-piece composition body is excellent quality and condition. She is wearing her original costume. On her apron in gold is written Egerland, which is part of Czechoslovakia. She wears a completely original costume: white blouse with colorful trim on the sleeves, a colorful print vest, skirt with apron, stockings, darling brown shoes with buckle and colorful orange print headscarf. Everything is in excellent, unplayed with condition. As these regional costumes are disappearing from use, these Souvenir dolls are becoming historically more important as a record of what was worn in various. What a lovely example of a European child!
