Wonderful 5-inch antique French all-bisque Mignonnette with slender modeling and bare feet. This is an early 1880s model with pale white bisque. She is incised 0 on her head and 0 on her legs. She has inset eyes with delicately painted eyelashes, rosy cheeks and a closed mouth. She has her original curly mohair wig over a cork pate and French cut crown. Her neck swivels and is kid-lined; her shoulders and hips are pegged. She has some flakes on the back of her left hip, a firing line from the peg hole to the top of her shoulder on her left arm, and a few specks in the bisque on her forehead. No repairs or hairlines. She came to me in the full-length rose silk dress with tiny seed pearls. It isn’t factory, but it’s been on her a long time. I always like to see the legs of these barefoot dolls, so I have given her reproduction shorter French dress and a pale yellow onsie. The dress didn’t get pulled down for the photo. It comes to the top of her lace onsie. These dolls usually came with ribbons tied around their feet, so you could do that and add a hat if you want to decorate her a little, jazz her up somewhat! I have given her an antique sewing basket in which she fits perfectly. A true French mignonnette!
